Maj Gen Hakeem Oladapo Otiki is a Nigerian military general.
He was on the news again a few moments ago, but this time not on a positive note.

According to a news by ThisDayLive, Court Martial ordered the dismissal of the Army Major General.
The Court was headed by the Army Chief of Policy and Plans, Lt. Gen Lamidi Adeosun and found Major General Otiki guilty of disobedience to service orders, theft of public property, among others.

He was dismissed from service with disgrace and dishonor, reduced from the rank of a Major General to Brigadier-General, and severely reprimanded.

The former GOC was charged for stealing the sums ₦100 million and ₦160 million, respectively. The funds are belonging to the Nigerian army.

Gen. Otiki however might be meeting some light in the tunnel, as the cases are subject to final confirmation by the Army council.

He was the officer who facilitated and obtained the NNPC licence for the Nigerian Army, and has good records in his years of service.

As at the time of the sentence, he was sick and due for retirement this year. He has been in the military for 45 years, and the Senior Advocate who was in his defense pleaded considerations.

If you can recall, the money in case was a ₦400 million was stolen in July 2019 by soldiers on duty who were transporting them to Kaduna State.
