Hilda is the first of six children, and is reportedly a sister to Nigerian ex-militant, Asari Dokubo.

She attended the St Mary State School Aggrey Road, and had her secondary school education at the Government Girls Secondary School.
After that, Hilda Dokubo moved to the University of Port Harcourt for a degree in Theatre Arts.

She started her Nollywood career in the year 1992, during her NYSC. Her first movie was 'Evil Passion' and she has starred in, as well as produced a good number of other movies.
