When it comes to entertainment in Nigeria, Imo State is no doubt one of the big heads, with a good number of entertainers to their credit. While there are a lot of established actors, comedians, musicians, DJs and so on, we cannot fail to appreciate the upcomings also, who are no doubt doing a greater job of keeping our newsfeeds less boring currently.
They are behind the skits, comedy videos and a majority of what you see on your social media platforms today.
We'd be checking out some of the fastest-rising comedians in Imo State currently.

In no direct order, some of my favorite Imo State comedy entertainers and content creators include:
• Chief Imo
Chief Imo is not a name that would need an introduction to any fan of Igbo movies. He came into limelight somewhat around 2017 when he started making movies with Sister Maggi, and has starred in over 200 movies.
One of the favorite things about him is how he makes use of his words, and that is no doubt his unique selling point.
Born as Longinus Anuyaehiechukwu Anokwute, Chief Imo is from Isu Local Government Area of Imo State.
• Egbe Igwe Apama
Born as Dike Osinanchi, Egbe Igwe Apama is another big name in the Imo State entertainment industry.
He is a popular Nollywood actor with a touch of comedy, and everything else you'd love to see on your screen.
He is regularly seen at Orange Groove, IMSU junction, Owerri and is one of the best things that happened to Imo State's entertainment.
• Prophet Rolex
Prophet Rolex is another big name in the industry.
Born as Anthony Odunze, Prophet Rolex came into limelight for his comedy videos revolving around eating.
Basically, what Rolex cannot eat does not exist... haha!

• Ada Jesus
Ada Jesus is another popular Imo State comedian you cannot just love her works less.
From attacking Owelle's statues to limelight, she is always on the news for obvious reasons.
She recently made the trends for her video on Hope Uzodinma, and has over 60,000 followers on her Facebook page.
• MC Rapado
MC Rapado is another Imo State born comedian with the spice. He has been in the industry for sometime now, and has worked with some of the biggest names like Chief Imo and Prophet Rolex.
Rapado is from Orlu.
• MC Chinekeboy
A former student of the Imo State University, Owerri based comedian, MC Chinekeboy is a comedian with a different spice.
He is popular for making random videos of himself, and most times got himself trending as a news.
MC Chinekeboy has received a good number of awards and nominations for himself.
• Comedian Smarto
Smarto Obinna is a fast-rising Imo State actor and comedian.
From his voice to his videos and energy, everything is a comic vibe.
Smarto doubles his time between Owerri and Orlu, and is one of the biggest MCs in Imo State currently. He has worked with other big names in the industry like Control J and Sons of Patrick.
• Control J Family
Duru Jesmine Remi better known as Control J is a comedian/actor with a difference. He doubles as a photographer, and directed a good number of Ada Jesus' videos.
Control J is from Orlu, and has worked with some of the biggest guys in the Imo State entertainment industry including Smarto and Prophet Rolex.
He recently released his song, Big God and it was another hit.
• Sons Of Patrick
Orlu to the world, Imo State twin actors, Igbo Clifford Chimaizuobi and Igbo Stanford Onyemaizuchi are another big names in the industry.
They came into the industry with the movie, Like Ripples and double as bloggers. They are originally from Imo State and both graduates of the Imo State University.
• MC Yellowmouth
MC Yellowmouth is one of the biggest comedians and Masters of Ceremony in Imo State.
He was one of the organizers of the last AY Live. He was on the news for the wrong reasons 2019, and has received a good number of awards for himself as an entertainer.
MC Yellowmouth is based in Owerri.
