She came into limelight after playing Dan Aykroyd's fiancée Penelope in the 1983 movie, Trading Places.

Kristin Clotilde Holby was born in Oslo, Norway and grew up in Larchmont. She attended Murray Avenue School and Mamaroneck High School and later took courses in apparel design at Rhode Island School of Design and started working as a fabric designer for a textile company.
She is a successful model and has worked for a good number of couture houses, including Ralph Lauren, Yves St. Laurent, Givenchy and Chanel.

As an actor, Kristin played Dan Aykroyd's fiancée Penelope in the 1983 film Trading Places and had a supporting role in 1986's Manhunter.
