Born on the 24th of April, 1991, Rema Namakula is a Ugandan singer and songwriter.
She began singing karaoke when during her Senior 6 vacation and later became a back-up singer to another Ugandan female musician Halima Namakula (who became her mentor).
Rema was born in Lubaga Hospital to Hamida Nabbosa and Mukiibi Ssemakula.
She was the last-born in her family and had her primary education at the Kitante Primary School, and secondary at the Saint Balikudembe Senior Secondary School.
At some point in her life, Rema Namakula was a backup artist for Ugandan star, Bebe Cool and she was eventually fired when the singer saw her talking about launching a solo album, which he (Bebe Cool) didn't know about.
She released her song Oli Wange in 2013, and it was a huge success, pushing her into limelight.
Rema Namakula represented Uganda at the fourth season of the Coke Studio Africa in 2016.
