Born on the 8th of November, 1988, Busiswa is a South African superstar singer, songwriter and poet.
She is otherwise known as Busi, and came into limelight after being featured on DJ Zinhle's song, 'My Name Is'.
Busi was born in Mthatha, Eastern Cape and her family relocated to Durban for work when she was still young.
She developed interest and started writing poems when she was around 15 years old, performed her poetry at corporate events, talent shows, poem sessions, and festivals. Busiwa also hosts a monthly poetry event, 1st Word Sessions at the Bat Centre in Durban.
Talking about her early life, the female singer grew up mainly under the care of her late mother and grandmother. She was introduced into poetry by her English teacher, and didn't come from a very wealthy background.
Busiwa had to drop out of varsity, and began squatting with her friends while doing menial jobs.
She began doing music, and has grown to become one of the most popular singers in South Africa.
Busiwa has a son, Lakhanya Gqulu with fellow South African entertainer, Katlego Mlangeni aka DJ Kaygee.
