Imo State: Hope Uzodinma’s Commissioner Accused of Fraud

Mr. Kingsley Ononuju, the former Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, under the Senator Hope Uzodinma administration has been accused of fraud. The former commissioner was accused of using his former position as the Commerce and Industry Commissioner to fleece accredited agents of Imo State Electronic and Express Directory (ISEED) project of sums running into several millions of naira.

The accusation was made by the New Media Director of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, Mr. Collins Opurozor, who made this know in a post on his Facebook handle, which reads as follows:

Uzodinma’s commissioner caught in fraud, disappears with money

Kingsley Ononuju has been accused of fleecing accredited agents of Imo State Electronic and Express Directory (ISEED) project of sums running into several millions of naira.

The scam happened when Ononuju served as Commissioner for Commerce and Industry. On the authority of our source, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry last year, partnered Telescope Publications Nigeria Limited to execute the ISEED project.

It was learnt that to execute the multi-million naira projects, more than 1000 accredited agents were engaged and each was required to pay a caution fees that ran into millions. They were also required to pay another N50,000 for any of the different categories of business they wished to work in.

All the affected persons have teamed up and launched a manhunt to capture and prosecute the fleeing man.
