Worker’s Day: Imo Special Adviser On Youth Affairs, Hon Eric Uwakwe Hails Uzodimma’s Commitment To Workers’ Welfare

Hon Eric Uwakwe, the Senior Special Assistant/Adviser to the Governor of Imo State on Youth Affairs has commended Sen Hope Uzodimma for his administration’s laudable projects and programmes aimed at improving the workers' living standard and that of the entire people of the state. Hon Uwakwe disclosed this during the occasion of the 2021 May Day celebration. He appreciated the Gov. Uzodimma lead government for the sustenance of payment of salaries every month, plus other welfare packages and numerous development projects across the state.

In the speech, Uwakwe stated that “it is crystal clear that workers of Imo State have never had it so good since the present democracy, as it is since the inception of the present administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma”.

He also described the governor as “the most labour and youth friendly governor in Nigeria”, 

While still speaking on the event, he thanked the governor, on behalf of Imo youths, for “regular and prompt payment of workers’ salaries, pensions and other allowances notwithstanding the high level of wage bill occasioned by the new minimum wage”.

Hon Eric Uwakwe equally lauded Gov. Uzodimma for taking the welfare of every Imo worker and citizens as the first priority, by his shared prosperity administration, stressing that “this further portrays the present government as an all-inclusive one that embraces every group and individuals as partners in governance”.

Pointing out that “His Excellency has written his name in gold on the history of the labour movement in Imo State and posterity will never play down on the legacy of your kindness and magnanimity to the workers”, 

Hon Uwakwe went further to commend the governor for “massive road construction, especially in the urban and rural communities; transformation of the state-owned health facilities, and unparalleled environmental cleanliness in the major cities of Imo State.
