Prof Placid Njoku Has Not Resigned As Deputy Governor

Contrary to the news that broke earlier today, the 9th of June, 2021, alleging that the Imo State Deputy Governor, Prof Placid Njoku had resigned his position, Browse.ng can authoritatively confirm that the news is false. Recall that the social media in Imo State was flooded with news of the resignation of Imo number two citizen today.

In what appears like a move to further make people believe the news, the originator of the post even credited some notable news outlets with the news.

Browse.ng visited the news platforms of those credited with the news and didn’t find any evidence, to back up their claims.

To further back up the info, Verbatim News correspondent, Mercy Anaele placed a call to aides of the Imo Deputy Governor and got confirmation that the news was fake.

The general public is advised to ignore the news of the resignation, and treat it as the handwork of mischief makers.

There have been rumours of plot to remove the Imo Deputy Governor, by some elements in the state, who believe he is a non-politician, and cannot handle the position.

Some of those fingered, had denied the allegations, of a conspiracy to remove the Imo Deputy Governor, but the rumour still persists.

The Imo Deputy Governor was a former Vice-Chancellor, before he was nominated to become Uzodinma’s running mate. Before then, he had not held any political position.
