According to a reliable source within the presidential cabinet, the attention of the President was drawn to the former local government chairman, Okwuosa, by his giant strides all through his internal campaigns. His endorsement for Okwuosa was founded on his proven averseness to corrupt governance which is evidenced by Okwuosa's exemplary track record within the political space.

The source, who craved anonymity, added that the president urged party members to ensure that the primary elections on Saturday, June 26 are held in a peaceful manner and encouraged members of the party to close ranks behind Hon Azuka Okwuosa and provide him with all the support required to push him into the governorship office in November.
