Born on the 2nd of May, 1965, Sisiku Julius Ayuk Tabe is an Ambazonian separatist leader and is the first president of the yet-to-be-recognized Federal Republic of Ambazonia.
He was born in Kembong, Manyu Division, Southwest Region and worked for an electric company, SONEL in the Adamawa Region of the country.

Sisiku Julius eventually rose to become an Academy Manager for Cisco Systems, and he started working for the American University of Nigeria where he rose to become the Assistant Vice President in Digital Services.
He has also functioned as a motivational speaker for several global conferences and is the brain behind the Ayuk Tabe Foundation in the town of Eyumodjock.

He owns a farm that employed nearly 30 people but they were forced to shut down in September 2017 after Cameroonian soldiers drove away the workers.
Talking about Julius' political career, his presidency started with Ambazonia's unilateral declaration of independence on the 1st of October, 2017. The Southern Cameroons Ambazonia Consortium United Front (SCACUF) formed the Interim Government of Ambazonia and Tabe - chairperson of SCACUF - became president by acclamation.

President Ayuk Tabe's stand was at odds with the declaration of war by President Paul Biya of Cameroon in November 2017 and the deployment of troops in the Anglophone regions.
In January 2018, he was arrested in Nigeria and extradited to Cameroon. He spent 10 months at a gendarmerie headquarter with other separetist leaders before being transferred to a maximum security prison in Yaoundé.
Ayuk Tabe and the other nine leaders were sentenced to life imprisonment by the Yaoundé Military Tribunal on the 20th of August, 2021.

There are still negotiations being done with the government of Cameroon to secure their release.
