Prof. Uche. U. Chukwumaeze has just been appointed as the acting Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the Imo State University, Owerri. He'd be taking over from Professor Peter Achunike Akah who has been in the position since his appointment on January 2021.
Prof. Uche. U. Chukwumaeze's appointment takes immediate effect as approved by the Governing Council which is their fundamental responsibility to appoint on behalf of NUC.
The appointment of Professor Chukwumaeze at the time of this report was an outcome of the council’s meeting on the pressing need to replace the former. Browse.ng learnt.
It is therefore agreed that when a GOVERNOR of a state appoints, the appointee will be in acting capacity pending when the Senate or National University Commission NUC authenticate and confirms the appointment.
