Aminu Bello Masari was born on the 29th of May 1950 in Kafur, Katsina. Between 1991 and 1993, he served as the Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport in Katsina State. In 003, he got elected as a speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives, a position he held until 2007.
In 2011, he contested for the office of Katsina State Governor under the platform of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change but lost to PDP's Ibrahim Shehu Shema.
In December 2014 Aminu Bello emerged as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the March 2015 elections. He was declared winner of the 11 April 2015 Katsina State Governorship election, defeating Musa Nashuni.
Aminu Bello Masari was sworn in as the Executive Governor of Katsina State on 29 May 2015.
Aminu Bello Masari was elected for a second term as Governor of Katsina on March 9, 2019, Katsina State gubernatorial election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
