Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke Biography and Educational Background

Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke was born on the 13th of May, 1960 to the family of Ayoola Adeleke and Esther Adeleke of Ede in Osun State. He had his primary education at Methodist Primary School, Surulere Lagos State then relocated to Old Oyo State and attended Nawarudeen Primary School, Ikire.

For his secondary education, Ademola attended both Seventh Days Adventist secondary school and Ede Muslim grammar school in Ede, old Oyo State.

Upon leaving Nigeria to continue his studies in the United States, he started higher studies at Jacksonville State University, Alabama in the United States where he majored in criminal justice with a minor in political science.

In 2021, he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from Atlanta Metropolitan State College, the US following many controversies that surrounded his educational qualification.

Private Career and Politics

Ademola Adeleke worked as a service contractor with Quicksilver Courier Company in Atlanta, Georgia, US, from 1985 to 1989.

In 1990, he progressed to Origin International LLC, Atlanta, Georgia, US, a flavours and fragrance manufacturing company where he served as vice president until 1994.

Ademola served as an executive director of Guinness Nigeria Plc from 1992 to 1999.

From 2001 to 2016, he was the group executive director at his brother's company, Pacific Holdings Limited.

Ademola Adeleke started his political career in 2001 alongside his late brother Senator Isiaka Adeleke who died in April 2017. He contested the Osun west 2017 by-election after the death of his brother, emerging as the winner under the People's Democratic Party.

He was a member of the All Progressives Congress until he decamped to the People's Democratic Party in April 2017.

On 23 July 2018, Adeleke emerged as the governorship candidate of PDP in Osun State after defeating Akin Ogunbiyi by seven votes.

On 22 September 2018, he ran for Osun state governorship election under the PDP against top contenders APC's Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola and SDP's Iyiola Omisore. Oyetola was declared the winner after a run-off was conducted on 27 September 2018.

In 2022, Adeleke contested the gubernatorial election of 16 July under the PDP against incumbent governor Gboyega Oyetola. He defeated Oyetola with 402,979 votes to 375,077 votes.

Ademola Adeleke is happily married to Titilola Adeleke and the union Is blessed with eight children including singer B-Red, Goke, Ayootola, Sinarambo, Folasade and Adenike.

He is also an uncle to popular musician, David Adeleke (professsionally known as Davido).
