Olanrewaju Michael Afolabi Teriba Biography and Early Life

Lanre Teriba was born on the 13th of May in Ogun State, Nigeria to the family of Pa late Samuel Oladimeji Awomosu Teriba (father) and late Prophetess Mrs Hannah Atinuke Teriba (mother).

He attended Christ Centre Primary School, Ilupeju, Lagos State, and Estate Grammar School Oshodi, Lagos. He also studied Accounting at Federal Polytechnic, Offa in Kwara State.

Career

Lanre Teriba started his singing career as a member of the Kegite Club (a sociocultural organization that promotes African cultural heritage) while in school.

Upon his graduation from the higher institution, he tried securing a job but couldn't. In 1998, he ventured into singing and during the period, he met a music promoter, Tunde Olokodana and the rest became history.

Teriba released his debut alum titled ‘Atorise (Reformer)’ in 2000 and it performed very greatly, shooting him to the limelight. He has since then released over 17 albums.

Lanre Teriba is one of the most travelled gospel musicians in Nigeria with tours across multiple countries in Africa, Europe and North America.

Teriba has been awarded the Gospel Artist of the Year in the City People Music Award.
