Nduka Obaigbena Biography and Educational Background
Nduka Obaigbena (Duke of Owa kingdom) was born on the 14th of July, 1959 into the royal family of Owa Kingdom, Delta State. His father was a world war veteran that fought in the second world war while his mother, Princess Margaret Obaigbena was a chief nursing officer in the then Mid-west state.
Nduka Obaigbena had his primary education in Delta State, after which he enrolled at Edo College for his SSCE. He thereafter, secured admission to study at the prestigious University of Benin (UniBen) for his first degree.
He also holds certificates from the Graduate School of Business at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg and Advanced Management Programme at the University of Cape Town.
Career and Politics
In 1991, Nduka Obaigbena contested as a senate candidate. Jn 1994, he got elected as a member of the Constitutional Conference.
In 1995, Obaigbena founded the Nigerian newspaper Thisday. In 2000 he founded the annual Thisday Awards which recognises and honours those who made contributions to Nigerian society in the political arena, global business, Women of distinction, and leading figures in the Nigerian education sector.
In 2013, he launched Arise News, signing a contract with Globecast for satellite transmission on Astra 2G for broadcast on the UK Sky platform, and to Hot Bird for cable distribution, with bases in Johannesburg, Lagos, New York City and London.
He is also the founder of Arise Fashion Week and Arise Magazine.

Nduka Obaigbena is a devoted Christain and a member of the Anglican Church.
He is married with children. According to Naijmobile, he remarried Ms Ikyuma Doris Aondoaka in 2018 after his first marriage hit the rocks. His union with Ms Ikyuma Doris Aondoaka is blessed with two children.
