Baba Fryo started his music career in Ajegunle, Lagos State, Nigeria. He could be described as a street or ghetto singer and his story could be likened to a 'Grass to Grace' story.

He became popular in the country after he released his major hit, Dem Go Dey Pose, which got Nigerians dancing at the time.

His songs were mostly written and sang in Nigerian pidgin English.

Baba Fryo created a dancing style called the Galala dancing style alongside other legendary artists such as Daddy Showkey and Daddy Fresh.

Not long after, new talented Nigerian artists began to emerge in the country and Baba Fryo was relegated to the background. However, he revealed in an interview in 2015 that he was still in the music industry and was not frustrated.

Also, he revealed that he pursued a newer career path and had become a land speculator. He claimed the Nigerian music industry had changed from what it used to be and has been filled with Yahoo boys and drug dealers.

In 2020, Baba Fryo took to his social media to call out for help from the Lagos State, Rivers State, and Delay State governments. Also, he did the same with colleagues and well-meaning Nigerians.

Although later, he revealed he was only battling depression and didn't know when he made the posts on social media.

However, in March 2021, Baba Fryo took to his social media page again to call out new generation singers from Ajegunle, Lagos, describing them as an ungrateful generation who never appreciated the opportunities given to them.

Then, in November 2021, Baba Fryo called out Davido on his social media for not coming to his aid when he made a call for help in 2020.

Baba Fryo is married even though the details of his wife and family are not disclosed to the public yet. However, in an interview in 2017, he revealed that his music career wouldn't have died if he had married a woman in the entertainment industry as he was.
